Συνεχίζω σήμερα με το χθεσινό θέμα, παρούσιάζοντας κι ένα απο τα σχέδια του Μιχάλη Κουντούρη. (Θα μου πει κάποιος πώς λέγεται στα Ελληνικά το sous plat. Υποπιάτιον, μήπως;)

Με την ευκαιρία θάθελα να πω δυο λόγια για το πώς προσέγγισα το θέμα. Προσπάθησα να δείξω τις εκπλήξεις που κρύβει το νησί μας, το αναπάντεχο που περιμένει παντού τον επισκέπτη -ένα κιονόκρανο, ένας μεσαιωνικός πύργος, μια παραλία. Η πανταχού παρούσα ιστορία αιώνων που διαχέεται λες στην ατμόσφαιρα που μας περιβάλλει, οι σκιές ηρώων, οι μύθοι και οι θρύλοι… ο ιππότης που δεν χρειάζεται πολύ φαντασία για να τον δείς να τρώει δίπλα σου σαν στο σπίτι του, ο Ποσειδώνας που αναδύεται μπροστά στον έκπληκτο πιτσιρικά.

COMPOSITE 2aKOUNTOURIS AToday I continue on yesterday’s theme presenting as well a drawing by my colleague and friend Michalis Kountouris.

À Propos, a few words to explain my approach of the theme. I remind you that to promote Rhodes we were supposed to create cartoons that would be made into table mats.

Well, then, what I tried to do was to emphasize the many surprises hidden in our island, the unexpected that awaits the visitor -the capital of an ancient column, a medieval tower, a golden beach. The omnipresent history of many centuries that permeates the atmosphere around us, the shadows of heroes, the myths and legends… the knight you don’t need much to imagine eating at the next table, Poseidon rising before the owe struck kid.
