Ο Γιώργος Σαράφογλου είναι σκιτσογράφος-γελοιογράφος και επιχειρηματίας. Διαβιεί στην Νέα Υόρκη. George Sarafoglou is a political cartoonist and businessman. He lives in New York City.

For my non Greek readers let me explain in a few words the caption of the cartoon.

For the past few weeks a major topic of discussion in Greece is a law on homosexual marriage and surrogate motherhood that the government is proposing and the Parliament will have to vote on it.

Of course the powerful Church of Greece has its own ecclesiastical views in all of this adding another issue which is whether homosexual couples can baptize their children.

The Church approaches the subject with immense skepticism but not outright denial…yet. They are thinking about it.

However, the other day the Archbishop of Greece Ieronymos in the presence of the visiting Archbishop of America Elpidophoros made a statement and in essence said that we could follow ancient tradition and have the children of homosexual parents be baptized when they come of age and can decide for themselves!

At the hearing of this the only thing I have to say is that the Archbishop has no business sense because the ideal way to sell “customers” ANYTHING is when they have absolutely no ability to decide for themselves!…Babies welcome!

P.S. – I would like here to give kudos to Archbishop Elpidophoros of America for exercising true Christian values by welcoming all to the arms of the Church! No exclusions.
Needless to say he disagrees with Ieronymos’ backward position since two years ago he officiated the baptisms of two children in Greece that had homosexual parents!
Bravo Ελπιδοφόρε!
