6 Ιουνίου 1944, Απόβαση στην Νορμανδία πριν 76 χρόνια.

Όσο και να προσπαθήσω να φανταστώ αυτή την εμπειρία, όσα φιλμς και να δω, όσες μαρτυρίες από πρώτο χέρι κι αν ακούσω, είναι απίθανο να συλλάβω αυτά που έζησαν αυτοί οι στρατιώτες.

Είναι καλό να θυμόμαστε και να τιμούμε τις θυσίες τους.

D-Day on June 6 1944, Invasion at Normandy.

No matter how much I try to “feel” what those Men felt at the time, no matter how many documentaries or eyewitness accounts/narrations I see or hear, it’s impossible to capture their experience.

Eternal may be their memory and sacrifice.

“We awakened at two o’clock in the morning on June 6th. This was my twenty-first mission, and take-off was at 4:20 in the morning. It was still dark…”
