Στο πνεύμα τον ημερών τρια “ταχυδρομικά δελτάρια” (carte-postale, post card) εποχής, απο το αρχείο του πατέρα μου.

Α. Ένας Balilla (Νεολαίος Φασίστας) ρίχνει ρετσινόλαδο στην Ελλάδα. Στην πίσω μεριά ο πατέρας μου, πολιτικός κρατούμενος εξόριστος στην Ιταλία, σημειώνει με ημερομηνία 19-7-1943:

Το ρετσινόλαδο που πότιζες

στους άλλους, απο το κακό σου,

στο τέλος σου περίσσεψε

και τόπιες μοναχός σου

Β. Ο “άξονας” πετάει στην θάλασσα την Αγγλία που τραβάει και το σκυλάκι της, την Ελλάδα. Απο πίσω ο πατέρας σημειώνει και πάλι, με την ίδια

ημερομηνία όπως και παραπάνω:

Αγγλία και Ελλάδα τις εδιώξατε

μ’ έναν λοστό σαν ένα κλέφτη

Μα ξάφνου το σκυλάκι κείνο γαύγισε

και τότε σεις το σκάσατε σαν να σας βάλαν νέφτι

28 of October is a national holiday, marking Italy’s attack against Greece and the beginning of WW 2 for this country. As far as I know, Greece is the only country that celebrates not the end but the beginning of the war instead. It is because this date marks the first victory of the free world against the powers of Fascism, with the Italian attack repulsed and the Greek army pushing the invading forces way back to where they came from.

Three post cards from that period, from the archive of my father, a political prisoner exiled to Italy. Period cards A and B are Italian, card C is Greek.
In card A, a Fascist Youth pours castor oil over Greece. Card B shows the Axis powers pushing England into the sea. England has her ally Greece like a dog on a leash. Card C is Greec, making fun of Mussolini.
