Το πρώτο σκίτσο είναι από την προ τετραετίας σειρά “Μόνο στην Ελλάδα” όπου σατίρισα μερικές από τις “κακοκεφαλιές” μας! (ΕΔΩ όλα τα σκίτσα της ενότητας ΜΟΝΟ ΣΤΗΝ ΕΛΛΑΔΑ του Γιώργου Σαράφογλου)

Όλοι γνωρίζουμε ότι στην Ελλάδα δεν μας λείπουν οι νόμοι αλλά η εφαρμογή τους!

Χρόνια τώρα το “Απαγορεύεται το Κάπνισμα” σε κλειστούς χώρους ίσως να είναι και ο πιό…”γραμμένος” νόμος από τους Ελληνάρες!

Enter Kyriakos!

Προχθές διάβασα ότι η νεοεκλεγείσα κυβέρνηση της Νέας Δημοκρατίας νομοθέτησε απαγόρευση του καπνίσματος και σε όλους τους δημόσιους χώρους προειδοποιώντας ότι η εφαρμογή του νόμου θα είναι ακαριαία!

Εαν όλα ισχύσουν το μόνο που θα έχω να πω είναι Bravo Kyriakos και καλωσόρισες Ελλάδα στον ευνομούμενο κόσμο!

(Υ.Γ.- Τον άλλο μήνα έρχομαι- όπως κάθε χρόνο- και θα δω από πρώτο χέρι τα αποτελέσματα. Ίδωμεν.)

The first cartoon is from a series of cartoons I drew titled “Only in Greece”! It was 4 years ago on one of my trips here that I observed a few “break the law” situations typical of us Greeks.

The sign that you can see with difficulty because of all the cigarette smoke reads…yes you guessed it, “No Smoking”!
It is common knowledge that in Greece we don’t lack laws but enforcement of the laws!

For years now the “No Smoking” ban is probably the law that our citizens have banned most from their behavior.
Enter Kyriakos, the newly elected Prime Minister of Greece.

Two weeks in office and one of his first actions was to legislate a new law banning all smoking in public places as in federal buildings, hospitals, etc.

He also assured and warned everyone that the anti-smoking laws -unlike in the past – will be duly enforced.

If all these good things materialize then the only thing I have to say is “Bravo Kyriakos” and to Greece “welcome to the law-abiding world”!

(P.S.- Next month I will be visiting Greece as I do every year and I’ll be able to evaluate the progress first-hand).
