“Ο Αϊνστάιν είπε κάποτε πως αν εξαφανιστούν οι μέλισσες απο το πρόσωπο της γης δεν θα έμεναν περισσότερα απο τέσσερα χρόνια ζωής για τον άνθρωπο. Χωρίς μέλισσες δεν υπαρχει γονιμοποίηση… δεν υπάρχουν άνθρωποι. Το είπε σε λίγους φίλους. Οι φίλοι γέλασαν. Αυτός όχι. Τώρα υπάρχουν όλο και λιγότερες μέλισσες στον κόσμο. Σήμερα, την Ημέρα της Γης, ας αναγνωρίσουμε πως αυτό δεν οφείλεται ούτε στην θέληση του θεού ούτε στην κατάρα του διαβόλου, αλλά: στην δολοφονία των φυσικών δασών και τον πολλαπλασιασμό της καλλιεργημένης γης -στις μονοκαλλιέργιες που στοχεύουν στις εξαγωγές και που περιορίζουν τις ποικιλίες των φυτών -στα δηλητήρια που καταπολεμούν τις αρρώστιες και ταυτόχρονα το καθε τι άλλο -τα χημικά λιπάσματα που λιπαίνουν το χρήμα και στειρώνουν το έδαφος – και στην ακτινοβολία των μηχανών που προμηθεύεται ο άνθρωπος επειδή έτσι μας λέει η διαφήμηση”.

22 Απριλίου, Διεθνής Ημέρα της Γης. Γιορτάζεται παγκόσμια σε 193 χώρες. Την ημέρα αυτήν το 2016 υπογράφτηκε το Σύμφωνο του Παρισιού, από τις ΗΠΑ, την Κίνα και άλλες 120 χώρες. Η υπογραφή αυτή ήταν προϋπόθεση για να τεθεί σε ισχύ η ιστορική Συνθήκη του ΟΗΕ για την προστασία του κλίματος, που είχε εγκριθεί απο 195 χώρες το 2015.

Σήμερα, η κυβέρνηση του Donald Trump προτίθεται να καταργήσει την Αμερικανική Υπηρεσίας Προστασία του Περιβάλλοντος. Παράλληλα στοχεύει στην κατάργηση και κάθε άλλου μέτρου που πάρθηκε επι προεδρίας Ομπάμα για την πρόληψη τη κλιματικής αλλαγής και τον περιορισμό της μόλυνσης του περιβάλλοντος.

Σήμερα επίσης η κυβέρνηση του Donald Trump μελετάει το κατά πόσο θα μείνει ή όχι στο Σύμφωνο του Παρισιού.

The friends laughed. He did not. Now it turns out there are fewer and fewer bees in the world. Today on Earth Day, let us acknowledge that this is not happening due to God’s will or the Devil’s curse, but rather because of: the murder of natural forests and the proliferation of farmed ones; monocropping for export, which limits plant diversity; poisons that kill pests and with them everything else; chemical fertilizers that fertilize money and sterilize the soil; and radiation from the machines people buy because advertising tills us to.

April 22 EARTH DAY. First celebrated in 1970, Earth Day events in more than 193 countries are now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network.
On Earth Day 2016, the landmark Paris Agreement was signed by the United States, China, and some 120 other countries. This signing satisfied a key requirement for the entry into force of the historic draft climate protection treaty adopted by consensus of the 195 nations present at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris.
Today, Donald Trump works towards the abolition of the US Environmental Protection Agency, created in 1970 to protect human health and the environment. The Trump administration’s first months have brought a flurry of changes to U.S. environmental policy. Many of the actions roll back Obama-era policies that aimed to curb climate change and limit environmental pollution, while others threaten to limit federal funding for science and the environment.
Also, key Trump advisers and Cabinet officials are now discussing whether the U.S. should stay in the Paris Agreement.
