Ντέσμοντ Τούτου, λοιπόν, Αρχιεπίσκοπος Κέηπ Τάουν, πρωταγωνιστής του αγώνα κατά του άπαρτχάιντ. Λέει ανέκδοτο:
Χιονίζει. Ο Ιωσήφ ζητά δωμάτιο στο χάνι της Βηθλεέμ.
“Λυπάμαι”, λέει ο χανιτζής, “δεν έχω δωμάτιο”.
“Μα δεν καταλαβαίνεις, η γυναίκα μου η Μαρία είναι έγκυος. Υπάρχει ανάγκη”.
“Ακου να σου πω”, λέει ο χανιτζης, “δεν έχω δωμάτιο και στο κάτω κάτω αν είναι έγκυος η γυναίκα σου δεν φταίω εγώ”. “Ξέρεις κάτι”, απαντάει ο Ιωσήφ, “ούτε κι εγώ φταίω”.
Δεν θα θέλατε να έχουν τέτοιο χιούμορ κι οι δικοί μας αρχιερείς; Εγώ, ναί!
I’m afraid I have posted this before, I can’t quite remember. If that is the case I apologize and ask for your understanding. The thing is that I like the joke and I like Desmond Tutu.
Desmond Tutu, then, Archbishop of South Africa, a leading figure of the struggle against apartheid. He tells a joke:
It is snowing. Joseph asks for a room at an inn, in Bethlehem. “Sorry”, says the innkeeper, “I have no room vacant”.
“But, you don’t understand, it is an emergency. My wife Mary is pregnant!”
“I’m telling you” says the innkeeper, “there is no room and, after all, I am not responsible if your wife is pregnant!”
“You know what” says Josef, “I am not responsible either!”
